Who are we?
The Garnock Valley Community Concert Band (GVCCB) is a Platinum Award Winning* community-based wind band based in North Ayrshire, not far from Glasgow and is a charitable organisation which exists to promote live music in the Garnock Valley area and beyond and provide its members with an opportunity to play a wide and interesting variety of music as part of an ensemble.
Since the resurrection of the band following the Covid pandemic, it has gone from strength to strength and now boasts over 30 members who collectively have achieved some notable success at Concert Band festivals throughout Scotland in recent years.
Within the band there is a wide range of instruments including brass, woodwind and percussion which provides an impressive range of musical capability. Occasionally the band is also supported by additional instruments such as electric bass or keyboard to further broaden its range.
Members of the band are people from all walks of life and all ages and it is fully inclusive and supportive of all those who wish to be part of it. Everyone is made to feel welcome and the emphasis is on people enjoying their music at whatever level they play.
Throughout the year the band plays at a number of public engagements and local events. It also takes part in two concert band festivals - a regional one and an national one. The band currently holds a Platinum Award and Gold+ award from these festivals as a measure of the standard of performance at these events.

The band is also available for hire at events either as a full ensemble or a reduced number of musicians to suit the event. Please contact us for more details and discuss your individual requirements.
